Not a hiring manager, but have referred a couple people. Have the GH person referring you to reach out to the recruiter on your behalf.
The referrals help, but has a recruiter ever reached out to you? The recruiters at the firm I am at, once they like someone- send their resume for any role that may be a fit...
As an SM if I refer someone, I often send the resume to the recruiter directly to flag the applicant.
^so rathe than going after the Directors- I’d see if your friends can determine a path/dialogue with recruiting.
Agreed w GH 2 and SM 1, when I refer I send an email to both the hiring manager and recruiter and attach the resume again even though I put it in the system.
I give an introduction as well as a quick recap of their work and how it fits that posting. Do their jobs for them.
When I and the hiring manager I make sure I know which people are referrals and usually take them first.
