If they said that’s their max, I wouldn’t count on it. Have you already interviewed? If yes, I’d say no. If no, I’d say there’s a slight change if they have a compelling reason enough for them to raise it to their CFO (ie you’re more skilled than the level they’re looking for, etc).
Maybe.. but you probably won't get much more than what they quoted... If that's all they have budgeted
You can negotiate- if they think you are a great fit and qualified for the position, they will find the $$. It could mean that the hiring process takes longer so be patient.
Chance, not change.
Thanks guys - @PM1 have not interviewed but it’s coming up. Just wanted to get an idea in case it comes up in conversation shortly afterwards, if it ever does get to that.
Go to Glassdoor and find out market rate, even Department of Labor will have it as back up. Aside from your qualifications this will help. Only thing is if you don't get it up you may have set up the next guy to get more.
I’ve been told that. Push for a signing bonus
👆🏻disagree, IP1. Signing bonus is taxed at a high percentage and only helps for year one, not any other year.
Any bonus is taxed higher.
Depends on how realistic your budget is.
For example in my strategy team I have fixed salary bands, to keep things fair and also because our budgets are artificially low.
Sometimes it’s worth talking soft benefits instead. But if you have a conversation and the target salary isn’t right just email them and say “thanks but no thanks I can’t make this salary work”.
You don’t have to take every job you interview dorZ
