The answer was $42,372.
80% the same, mckinsey has a personality interview portion that is fully unique to them though (PEI) - for that you'll need mck specific books.
What books are you reading?
Good ol' Victor is probably your best bet, although he's pretty obnoxious.
Thanks everybody. That's good to know
What did you apply for?
What. How little prep did you do???
I read through entire books of case prep and McKinsey-specific prep for my interviews there to get an offer. You should know the answer to all of these questions before you ever stepped foot into the interview
I read the books and had a prep call with mckinsey alumni as part of the process who said I did well. It is still not clear to me though how the score for the case is determined.
Am I expected to come up with specific solution or any solution that makes sense would do?
That should absolutely be covered in any case book, I think it's like chapter 1 usually
You didn't have an interview then, that was just a prep call to help you do better on the actual interview
Pwc you go through OCR or exp hire? And what level?
I had a prep call few days ago which I did well on and the actual interview today which I am not sure about
S1 which books cover how the case is evaluated? Is it the same for different firms?
You're expected to come up with a solution, but not necessarily a specific one. I.e. There is no right answer (but lots of wrong answers). They want to see how you thing, how you deal with numbers, etc. plus, it's out of your control now. Just relax.
I thought I blew my phone screen and ended up getting an offer. It was an awkward half case and the person giving it seemed checked out
My phone case with McK was pretty easy. It's a low bar.
