If you’re white like me it’s so important to realize that we were raised in a society where institutionalized racism is normalized, and we were born with privilege. You can’t choose the color of your skin, but you can choose to put ego aside and reflect on why this isn’t happening to me, and be vocal about being anti-racist.

This usually happens if the decision maker is slammed with a deadline, or traveling.
If you're having multiple calls, you can usually use one to create urgency with another, but beware that it can quickly give you a scent of untrustworthy if you make up a scenario like this, or embellish one, without it actually existing.
If the only urgency is sheer desperation, sit tight.
I usually console myself by saying someone whose schedule has been interrupted/forced/rushed will be way less receptive to the conversation.
At this point, there’s only two days left this week. Meet next week, and if they continue to push it out, let them know you have another project interested in booking you and prefer to work with them. Then ask how to move more quickly.
The fact that the decision-maker is slammed and can’t meet until next week is a good sign. It sounds like they need bodies and you might be able to help take up the slack. You can use that in your interview as well.
Real simple - you can’t. If you do, you’ll come across as exactly what you are - desperate. They’ll pass you right over without thinking twice.
Agree with everything the other comments are saying. Use this time to do your extensive research of the interviewers, the account, any work they’ve produced… and really become one with it so you can easily highlight it next week during the conversation
