Hi ,I have been interviewed and selected in S&P Global .salary almost negotiated and waiting for the offer letter to release. But seems like they are not willing to release the offer because of my 90 np . They are asking to join by 60 days but initially I told them my NP is 90. Even I am ready to take the 60 days offer but now they are not releasing offer as they want assurance. Now they are not picking calls.seems like i will loose the offer. Is there anything can be done.

#2 - Abandon this mentality until you at least make manager and get a firsthand taste of what partners actually do. The road to partner is littered with the smoldering remains of associates and seniors who burned themselves out by prematurely sprinting for partner track.
I agree with you. I am only focusing on my next step (getting a senior position) instead of thinking about #2 mentality.
I’ve done a smaller firm and it made me miss EY! But that EY brand on my resume opens up so many jobs for me. I’d go with one of the big 4s for a couple of years
This post annoys me. It’s like tik Tok but for fishbowl.
Anyway I think if you’re trying to do long term Public; go big 4 because even if you change your goals that has value.
Also compare which teams / cities / benefits / practices / subcultures you prefer.
My initial reaction is Deloitte but your frilly post doesn’t give enough detail on any of the important details.
I agree here. BDO still doesn’t have anywhere near the same name recognition so if you’re not committed to making partner in a particular firm/office then a big 4 name will be better for your image.
I would do B4 earlier in your career to get the most exposure possible early on. Obviously I’d recommend Deloitte. 🤗
I think you left some info out that would really help.
What are you looking for specifically? Is your personal life important? Is a smaller group important? Pay?
I’m currently at BDO, and from what I can tell the region your in really determines everything.
Having been at small, mid-size regional, and big 4 also, I can tell you it’s all dependent on what you want.
My opinion is to go big4, Deloitte specifically. I went from Deloitte to BDO, and fully regret the move. So much so that I’m planning to leave soon.
Feel free to DM me if you have any questions.
I think all the big 4 had layoffs during the pandemic not only Deloitte though (i might be wrong)
That ^
Just curious, did you apply to PwC for a position?
No, I did not. Actually I had no plan to move anywhere but the offers that I got made me really think about the next step sooner than later.
long term would not stay at big 4 but once u get big 4 on resume ur resume becomes more impressive and u will have more opp later
Probably 69 months.
What do you call upper tier public accounting firm?
Thank you so much. I agree about the resources. Staying at upper tier or moving to big four make more sense now.
What areas of tax will you be working on for those offers?
Business tax services
If your goal is to make partner, you would need more exposure. I think a lot of the partners I know at deloitte had some sort of rotation. Without rotation it’s hard to get to partner in deloitte or EY. Are you down for rotation? If so, deloitte and EY. I’d not, I would go for smaller firm that offer the work and price - where you can do what you love
I am okay with the rotation. Could you please give me more details about how the rotations are at Deloitte?
