This. Very 9-5
Look around for a different account or role. When you’re interviewing ask leading questions to gauge culture and work life balance. Consider working for someone with kids or someone with a clear sense of family, hobbies and life outside Of work. They can often help set the tone for the pace of the account. Consider how to reframe your thinking in what you consider growth. Perhaps It’s not about down shifting but you can learn and grow more in parallel without always feeling like you’re drowning. Sometimes you’re don’t realize how much you are learning and growing.
Following. I feel the same way.
I think this really depends on your agency, team and client(s). I have always worked for independents, which I prefer because the pace and demands aren’t quite as crushing. I did my early years at a night and weekends shop, then moved to a much smaller one (~50 people) where there is a lot more respect and boundaries for personal time. I haven’t worked a full weekend in years!
Pharma baby!
What Freelance 1 said. I’m in pharma and wondering how i can slow the hell down once baby arrives. I’ve never worked in any other industry so i can’t compare but i can say pharma can still be exhausting
