I don't feel guilty 😬 It's business. They would cut you in a second if it served their bottom line. When we feel too loyal to one of these companies, it only comes to bite us in the butt. We give up a lot to be loyal to them, but they do not do the same thing in return, at all
By realizing you are replaceable. No matter how much it feels you are important to them - in reality, everyone will eventually move on and find their new status quo. Such is the business of life.
I worked for one company for 5 years. I decided to leave because the writing was on the wall due to slow work and change of leadership. My co-workers were sad for me to go, but I decided that the move at that time was best for my family. At the end of the day, it's a business decision. As long as you leave on good terms, they will hire you back and you can always keep in touch with your former coworkers.
Rising Star
We can't feel guilty for doing what we believe is best for us. Is the new opportunity a better fit for you, does the position excite you, are you ready to learn something different? Reframe it as the next step in your career and keep in touch with the connections you made. Chances are you feel guilty on losing those relationships or putting someone in an uncomfortable situation workwise.
There should be no guilt in changing jobs, ever. It's an exchange of money for a service. If somebody wants to give you more money and/or better quality of life while providing that same service, you take it. Just like all of these companies outsourcing labor...they don't feel guilty when they save a buck on labor to make more profit and get bigger bonuses.
