Has anyone else been in a team lead type of role and been promoted to a manager position with direct reports etc? I'm curious about how long it takes, I don't know too much about this but I am interested in taking the next step potentially.

I want to exit to MBB but if that’s not a possibility what are the next best consulting firms? Looking for at least midsize firms (non-boutiques).
