I had 0.8 at 38 and only retrieved 5 eggs, however 3 resulted in PGT normal embryos. Currently 36 weeks pregnant- my RE actually said she did not think my AMH was a deal breaker since you just need one good one and we ended up having success.
Read “It Starts With the Egg” by Rebecca Fett - I raised my AMH of <0.5 to >1 between the ages of 28 and 31 and ended up harvesting 13 eggs that turned to 8 blastocyst embryos. I was also able to conceive naturally without having to use our embryos. I do consider myself extremely lucky in the outcome we had, but I do believe with the right diet, exercise, and medical intervention, you can be successful in meeting your family planning goals. Best of luck, OP!
Seconding this recommendation!
My AMH was less than 1 at 29. I got 8 mature eggs and ended up with 4 embryos in the end. I did another egg retrieval at 32 with AMH levels of less than 0.5 and got 10 mature eggs with 4 additional embryos again!
Please share us tips on what you’ve done during the preparation
I think a lot depends on your age and the resources you have. If someone is 30 with a low AMH and can do multiple ERs, they may have more favorable outcomes. If you are 40 and it’s 1 ER, it’s going to be more challenging.
My personal opinion is to talk to your doctor, get all the information you can, and trust that you will make the right choices along this journey for you. Everyone’s story is different.
How low? I had an egg retrieval at 34 with 1.2 AMH and recently had another age 36 at 1.1. The first one resulted in 12 eggs, one normal embryo and live birth. Second ER 24 eggs and waiting on testing results. I think the goal is to have AMH over 1 as that usually yields a better response rate during stims. Under 1 is still do able but might need multiple retrievals.
I’ve had .67 AMH at 32 but doing the freezing at 37 when AMH is .217. Cycle 1 had 3 eggs of which only 1 is mature so trying my cycle 2. Idk! I think it is possible so praying for you and me both!
Btw, I should probably add, I gave up hope at 32 when my AMH was under 1 and the RE said it was impossible for me to have a child with endometriosis as well. I smh stumbled upon another doctor after 5 years who said something is better than nothing and helped me keep hope
There is hope. 34F, I’m not out of the woods yet but have very low amh (<0.5) and have been able to make a few euploid embryos. I’m very lucky to live in MA where there is insurance coverage for multiple cycles. I remember being devastated when I first got my AMH numbers and feeling like the rug was pulled out of me, but it is more about the egg quality than the quantity! Wish the best for you.
My Amh was at 0.9 last summer, I’m 35 now, started taking coq10 and prenatal religiously and almost 10 months later had my first retrieval. 10 eggs, all matured and got 6 embryos. So don’t worry about amh. It’s quality v quantity.
