Been there. Take it. Prove yourself as much as you can, and ensure you have a very good transition plan. But also before you accept, ensure that the new place seems welcoming, accepting of moms. It’s not just post partum going back to work, but you don’t want to be in a place that is toxic about you accepting a job while pregnant (I assume there’s less and less of that, but you never know).
Yep, did it at 7 months pregnant. Company was really supportive; benefits, leave policy were better than my prior company. Only challenge was I was cautiously invested when I first started knowing that I’d be out; so when I returned it felt more like starting the job over again since I had been there for such a short period of time before. Had to remember to cut myself some slack on getting into the real swing of things.
Take it! It’s a great distraction from the pregnancy and makes it go faster. Plus people will take you seriously; if you’re someone willing to move jobs while pregnant you’re clearly not planning to phone it in. Congrats!
Friend / former fellow colleague did it and is still with the company and her 1 year old daughter is a cutie. #mommiescandoanything Best of luck @ Brand Strategy Director
I started an entirely new role within my company while pregnant and it was great for me. Not apples to apples, I know, but one of the best career decisions I have made.
