Has anyone here gone from working in Public Accounting to Recruiting? If yes, can you please share your experience with me and if you are happy with the change? I am strongly considering making this move simply because I feel that I would be better at recruiting or something more sales oriented. Any positive feedback will be extremely helpful. Thanks!

I heard now is not the greatest time to go into recruiting.

I was thinking of making the jump but decided against after talking to some recruiters

A lot of HR/recruiters have been laid off in this market. Alternatively maybe you can consider going into marketing or sales?

I did this years ago and it was the best move for me. I’ve made an entire career of people roles within the profession. I felt exactly like you- that I’d be better in recruiting. My experience as a practitioner and candidate made me more relatable.

Currently senior consultant with 3.5 years work ex + Masters in IE. Google is offering Program Manager role but at L3. The base will be almost the same as current (120k) but the upside is equity. (+70k year 1) Really confused on whether I should be taking this? It feels like a huge step down and starting all over again at the same level as fresh grads. Was expecting L4 but lost out due to interview feedback. The role would also require me moving cross country (East coast to the Bay)

Any EU attorneys who went for an LL. M. in international commercial law (or other) in Europe?

If so have you found it "worth" the year of your time? I am currently working at a firm that specializes mostly on commercial law and has a lot of foreign clients. I have some options regarding the possible LL. M. One of them is little less prestigeous that would allow me to stay working at law firm as I am studying. The other would mean taking a year off work and pursuing the LL. M, Thanks for help

7 year lawyer here. Been with the same big national firm all 7 years (not BigLaw) doing complex litigation. Been working remote a long time due to moving around for wife’s job. As a result of the moving was bumped off partner track. I’m looking at a great small firm that will be a practice change (but still litigation). I’m told they’re looking for someone with less experience and they’re skeptical because of my experience. It’s frustrating. How do I overcome this?

My company covers in depth results each week, including meetings set/attended, wins, revenue, retention etc. I feel as if evaluating in such depth is detrimental to the psyche, as you never get to “ride the high.” In addition, some weeks are simply slower than others, and it’s not always representative of what the results at the end of the period or quarter will be. Is this not a big deal, and I’m I placing too much importance on it? Or is it beneficial to review results less frequently?
