Omg i was all in until the fact that you'd have to move. That'd be a non starter for me, as someone currently living in NYC but started my career in SF

Maybe I’m missing something but I feel like this sounds reasonable with 3.5 YOE, no? You’re making $190K all in first year? And with Google where you will surely have great WLB and benefits.

The L3 to L4 promo can happen as fast as 18 months. If you can afford to move - then do it

Well.if you start asap...and crush it ..there is a chance you will get it in September.
I shouldn't have said 18 months...we do our promos in March and September. I think March of 2023 is a solid timeline....or if you do as well as you think it can be as soon as September
Would appreciate any perspectives / insight on this down level along with long term career outlook. For reference - the role is on the business side (think supply chain) limiting my exposure to tech and analytics which is my primary interest.
Sounds like a low ball, they are flexing the name to pick you up on the cheap.

3.5 years is a super low number of years for the people we typically hire. We try to hire more experienced people.
Seems low to me. I would ask for more. Is PM an interest of yours? I’d keep shopping for analytics roles or S&O at other tech companies. LinkedIn, Salesforce, DoorDash, Lyft I feel like are always hiring for these roles
Also probably worth chatting with previous Google project managers and getting their perspective on career progression, etc. I interned there and was turned off by the lack of opportunities in business roles.
