Yes absolutely you shod study how to partition equliateral triangles in an azure environment otherwise quit while you are ahead
Well... it’s a place where it’s hard to grow unless you’re in the correct business units. I feel it’s overweight at middle management being a tech company that’s been around for 30years. Many employees don’t have anywhere else to go in Seattle that can pay them a similar wage so they stay, even though many should have left a decade ago...
I feel like there’s a lot of red tape to get through to get things done at MSFT and they look to build it themselves when industry has already done something similar that’s open-sourced.
Again, I haven’t worked there, just talked to many employees during my never-ending career search and I just haven’t found the right Pros to move forward with any of the opportunities presented...
Also, I feel like if you’re directly working on Azure there’s still a lot of room for growth vs other business units throughout the company. Just my 2c’s
@ SA1 - You hit the nail on the head. This is why a handful of peers who worked at MSFT left after 3-4 years. Getting into the right business unit is tricky. Lots of politics.
You could say the same thing about the Big 4 with some minor tweaks
My team was awful and I second the note about there being lots of red tape. However, if your #1 priority is work life balance... they do have that in spades.
Just curious, why MSFT? I’m looking for Pros to potentially follow up on some offers, so far my Cons outweigh to follow up / Continue the process.
I did. They asked me which product I would eliminate. I answered and the interviewer said that he would lose his job if that product would be eliminated. He then asked for another product I would eliminate and why. A bunch of other tricky questions. This was for an undergrad opp I had 11 out of 12 offers. Micro was the outlier.
SA - why NOT MSFT?
Yeah, I interviewed there for a non-tech internship and passed. Then I did that internship, and never wanted to return. Now I'm at Accenture and am so grateful.
If I haven't disuaded you from applying yet... I found the interviews fun / challenging compared to the other ones I did. I studied their BUs before going in, then I just went in and was myself. All other companies didn't seem to like honest opinions on their products, but Microsoft liked when I told them truthful opinions so long as I had detailed and constructive reasoning. Sometimes they challenge you to see what you do, and they want to see if you stick by what you said or not.
