Hi everyone, I'm comparing two offers from Accenture and Cognizant. Could you help me figure out some of these questions: 1. At 5 YOE, what kind of package can I expect? Current offers: Accenture (12LPA fixed, 2.5L variable), Cognizant (14.3LPA fixed, 45K variable) 2. Nature of work - What kind of work can I expect from these companies? 3. would I get the opp to use any authoring Tools? 4. Work life balance - which is better? 5. Increments - avg % hike? 6. Culture - which is better?

I got a call from Infosys HR on 16-September-2022 that I have been successfully selected for the job position of Test Analyst at Infosys, as per our conversation I have to receive an offer letter within 15 days, but I haven’t received it till now.
Now They have sent a mail that your Candidature is on hold. Is this happened with anyone else also.
Please do suggest on this guys.

Wow. McKinsey, which has the biggest public sector presence of the MBB, really hasn't been doing too hot at all in the sector.
Its presence is tiny and it's gotten even smaller. Meanwhile it's bungling whatever opportunities it's getting.

Yes. I worked in government for 10.5 years and went to private for 4 years, then came back to government just in time to still be able to retire early. I do not regret leaving the government. I increased my pay significantly, gained some new skills, and when I got tired of the demanding hours in private I came back to the government where I have a much better work life balance. It is good to move around to see what you really enjoy. I have a friend who left the government a year or 2 after me and she has no plans to return. Just make sure you leave on good terms in case you plan to go back.
Thanks for the feedback - I worry that due to my age by the time I would be able to retire (30+ years) if I went back to the govt I’d loose a lot of money due to capping out. Definitely will have to do some digging into other companies
Have you ever considered contract work with a vehicle that supplies government? You can often get a much better hourly and the work environment expectations aren't the same - many contractors are expected to be hybrid, are hired with a specific project in mind and then get to move on to the next challenge that interests them. I think it can be more focused/rewarding and the pay is generally better/you have the oportunity to revisit at the beginning of each new contract. Happy to chat further if you have Qs :)
Great insight. Thanks!
