Are there going to be layoffs .....
Does anyone ever get fired from a Big 4? I have a staff that I have no idea how she made it through. Much lower level of performance than even the interns.
Mic laid off its entire staff, sold the name to Bustle, and is relaunching with an entirely new staff. Read the union's statement on the fiasco.
I’ve been laid off and, as I embark on my job search, I’d like to keep my marketing skills sharp. Any recommendations on must read books, or resources?
Just got laid off today. Manager fought really hard for me, but senior threw me under the bus to my career advisor. Oh well on to the next challenge.
I started a new job and was originally supposed to be on two accounts but got pulled off one to focus on the other. It’s now giving me a ton of anxiety. I just know if we loose that one account, I’m laid off whereas if I’m more diversified I have a better shot not being laid off. We’re not in review or anything so my question is…am I being paranoid or am I right to be worried?
What are the signs that you’re getting laid off? And how quickly can that decision be made? Is it possible to have poor performance today, then laid off as soon as tomorrow?
It is very difficult to do my job and think creatively when I’m living each day in constant fear of being laid off. I’m grateful to have a job, but damn, sometimes I feel like I’m coming apart at the seams. Happy Saturday, everyone.
Looking at the way people are laid off, utilization is just one part of it. It's so hard to pin point what is (proper consultants let go from projects, etc..)
There is truly nothing like going through the shock of layoffs and then seeing your closest coworkers still here at the end of the day. Hold you peeps close today folks ❤️ 😔
Has anyone either been laid off or just switched from Big4 during covid to corporate? Was it difficult? did you still receive a raise? If so, how much?
What are the best reasons to go full-time after freelancing? I started freelancing a month ago after I was laid off thinking it would just be temporary but I’m really enjoying it so far. My stress levels are lower and the money is better. I have a few full time opportunities in the mix and I’m trying to gauge if I should go back to full-time or stick with freelance. For those who have taken a full time gig after a successful freelance run, what did you base your decision on?
I have a gov law job with an offer to go to a great firm as a mid-level associate. Worried that if COVID continues, I’ll get laid off (much less likely at my gov job). Should I wait or go?
when I got laid off couple of months back, one of the leadership I worked closely with for couple of years said that my skills are not right for the xyz firm and that I should take it - contd
So if you get laid off what do you tell prospective employers when interviewing? Do you pretend you weren't laid off?
Going on 5 months since I was laid off and I’m slowing losing hope. I’ve exhausted all my contacts, my network, people not even in my network. I feel that I’m never not looking and I’m running out of options. I know I’m not alone by any stretch but somehow it doesn’t make it easier.
I’m looking for a new role in NYC. I have a feeling more layoffs are imminent at my current agency. Ideally, the role would be client facing, incorporate content creation, pay at least $90K and be located within an office known for its company culture. Reply if you have any leads. Thanks!
Hey! — one of our portfolio companies in the healthcare space is looking for someone to build out its customer success function. Looking for senior manager/principal, healthcare exp required, dm me!
I filed prevailing wages in June this year under H1b. When would I expect to receive response from DOL?
Anyone has any suggestions on how to get the M&A forecast for 2018 in the US ($ volume)? Need for a client. Thanks!
Delta Medallion - NYC based and will be close to renewing plat this year. Miles run or take gold/miles and get a head start on next year?
This is a long shot but wondering if anyone has experienced this. I just changed to H1B status last Oct and my bank mailed me recently after tax filing deadline (I have filed tax in time using H&R block) asking me to fill out W9 if I am a resident alien / another form if I am not. This has never happened in previous years. Does it mean I missed a form using H&R block or is it related to the status change…?
For those that travel almost everywhere Week. How many points do you guys make a year on your airline and hotel? Trying to estimate the value of the perks we get in our job.
Today is my 40th birthday and I'm doing it big this year. Took the day off to relax and catch up on reading, cooking and drawing. 😃 No emails, no slack, no meetings.
I’ve had a few friends die tragically in the last couple months - only one being COVID-related. I’ve been dealing with lots of grief and I’m trying out BetterHelp to talk through some stuff. Haven’t had an appointment yet, but I set my account up using my firm laptop and now I feel like that was really dumb. Am I an idiot?
Has anyone interviewed for the Apple GSM role past the hiring manager round? If yes, would love to discuss about the interview process, the questions, and prep.
Any other accounts out there think the 1.9T stimulus is being spent on the wrong things?
McKinsey Implementation Consultants - Healthcare Specific : Keep seeing this pop up on my radar via LinkedIn and am very intrigued. Any insider scoop on types of engagements, length, etc.
How can I become more “okay” with being an average performer? I’m two years out of school and have been considered a high performer so far, but it’s taken a toll on my mental health and I feel anxious most days. I’ve realized that the cost of being a high performer outweighs the benefits, and am trying to loosen up and be more comfortable with coasting on occasion... I’m what people may consider an insecure overachiever. Has anybody here ever had the same feeling?
I have a full sleeve. Cool to wear a short sleeve polo to a client site or should I wear long sleeves?
For those who have kids or have decided you want to start having kids, how did you know you were ready to start trying? I’m turning 31 and my husband and I have been married for 8 months. I’ve always wanted to have kids eventually, but I’m having a hard time coming to terms with how much life will change and the sacrifices that have to be made. Maybe it’s because social media has made me acutely aware of the the mom struggle. If anyone has helpful advice to push past the fear, please share!
