Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.
Lol shots fired

Although Amazon has instituted a hiring freeze and layoffs are probably on their way, I went through the loop for a security engineer position at AWS. Before I attended the final interviews, Amazon placed the hiring freeze and called me to ask if I wanted to go ahead or cancel my application. I decided do go ahead Right now I'm waiting for their response and the position I applied to changed from "under consideration" to "no longer under consideration". Thoughts?
Is Nagarro good to join? I have a fully remote opportunity which I'm pretty sure I can crack. Is the pay and benefits good at Nagarro? Do they provide laptop and test devices or will I have to work on my laptop? Do they give medical insurance etc? What if the project gets over. Do they have enough projects or will I be asked to move to a different technology? Will I be fired if on bench? Nagarro

I got a call from HR and offer discussion was over couple of weeks back and still waiting for them to send me final mail to release offer. May I know if they take this much time to release offer, when I did a follow up call after 10 days they said they are waiting for some approval to release offer.

Hello, I have an offer from Publicis Sapient for their product management internship program. Wondering if anyone has any insight into the program (exits, etc) and how the return offer looks like in terms of salary. I still also hold an interest in data science so might go with another offer but I’m not sure if it is a wise choice to let go of a PM offer while I have it.

I haven't, but wouldn't blink at doing so if the hiring company was trying to poach me from elsewhere. If you have a guaranteed, stable job or booking and someone comes knocking, why not?
Also, I would ask for a payment guarantee vs. an employment guarantee.
Thank you! Yes that’s what I was trying to figure out. Especially when the economy feels so damn unstable.

No but holy cow would that be a red flag if a candidate brought that up. What exactly were they planning?
So like, tenure, but for new employees?
A friend took a job on an account that was infamous for asking leaders off the business. They struck a deal that if they were asked off within a set time, the holding company would find them a comparable role. So it's possible to do it if you are business-critical and you're in a role that is recognized as difficult. And those are big ifs.
A bit of context... I got an offer from a much smaller firm and I’m worried about the stability if I end up taking it.
I had an opportunity to relocate. I asked for that. One year guaranteed in Seattle (moving from Los Angeles). They said that was not an option. Ultimately I got the offer and used it as leverage to get a raise and stay put in Los Angeles.
A freelance contact negotiated a full years salary if he got laid off within the first year by an in-house team at a financial firm
That’s amazing.
I’ve negotiated guaranteed severance that goes down over time. So, a one year severance that goes to an 11-month severance after 30 days and so on, and then held at 3 months. Basically guaranteeing one year salary after starting, and three months severance after that. Of course if I violated policies or egregiously imploded that would void the agreement. But I was relocating with family and for an executive role (hence the three months after)
Ive heard of a negotiated severance, but not an employment guarantee.
I got 3 months written-in if let go within the first year, but I had to work out 2 months of said 3 months, which I’m being forced to do at the moment.
