Nah, I’d rather enjoy what little of a personal life I have
I wish they are more open to people working on their own schedules instead of 9-5. I kind of want to work at the gym reception night shift where they sort of just need a body there and do my wps there.
I am so busy I work until 11pm some nights, so I don’t know about that. I’m client facing though and could never do that. I also am contractually obliged to do report and get approved ANY secondary work to ensure compliance and no risk of conflict of interest given the industry. You may want to check yourself contract. Could be a legal mess waiting to happen.
I have a friend who does this, but you will get in big trouble if caught since working two full time jobs at once technically isn't ethical.
Not WFH but I do want to work in a mall or boutique store …anywhere designer 😂
I have considered it but how would you deal with conflicting meetings? You probably could run a business out of your home or do freelance work during that time without issue.
Ironically I thought about it today if 1 of my jobs would be super flexible so that I could work 2 WFH jobs and get paid a lot.
In the end I thought it wasn't worth it because you can just try getting 1 higher position job at a better company to then catapult you somewhere close to the salaries of the 2 jobs. Having 2 full time WFH jobs would be pretty stressful too.
I wouldn’t suggest it if you work for a large company. HR IT departments are becoming more savvy and monitoring computers of remote workers.
If your second job is also a formal legal employment likely they could find out through certain system (maybe I9 or some documents like that?). I think most companies don’t care about a side hustle, e.g. if you run a small business apart from your full time job. But better to check your employment contract to confirm which type of work you can and cannot engage with. Some contracts do forbid second job so in that case better not do it.
Deloitte probably prohibits it except in a few scenarios because of independence. They also probably do random independence compliance audits that would uncover this.
Maybe selling or re-selling some type of product. I can’t imagine much else you could do if you are employed full-time. I own my own business and it is a huge struggle to manage books, bills, and employees along with my full-time job. It you don’t have hardly any hobbies and don’t mind casual mental breakdowns at least once a week then it may be okay.
Enthusiast
I know few people who have pulled this off during covid. The jobs were not in the same field.
One wanted to pivot from their previous career to something more technical and the prior job kept offering raises when they talked about quitting.. they ended up keeping both positions.
