The head of my large group apparently has the word domination tattooed across their chest.
I’m actually waiting in a tattoo shop right now to get tattooed. I tend to wear long sleeves and roll them up when not in client contact. My coworkers/partners know I have them because they see them when I get changed to go to the gym but nobody has said anything so far. As long as they’re covered up around clients and you don’t have neck/hand tattoos you should be good to go.
Edit: to clarify I have a body suit of American traditional and Japanese tattoos to give you an idea of coverage. Go ahead and get your sleeve if you want it my friend.

Checking in from my tattoo studio as well. I’m in house now, but am covered in tattoos, including a full sleeve. My colleagues knew/know I have tattoos but I keep them covered in professional settings. They’ve never been an issue and, if anything, are occasionally a fun topic of conversation when a client also has them.

People have them, but most keep them covered in the office. I’ve run across a number of the younger attorneys and client reps that hang on to the “unprofessional” stereotype for visible tattoos in the office. So, while there are exceptions, I’d say the attitude hasn’t changed towards “visible every day” tattoos.

I dont think discrete tattoos in places often but not always covered by clothes or hair are a big deal in 2022. That heart on your wrist? The phrase behind your ear? The word on your foot that you can just glimpse in certain heels? Fine.
I wouldn't like rock a sleeve or a facial tat.
If you can offset with an otherwise generally professional vibe that helps.

I don’t think tattoos are unprofessional. I just think they’re ugly and tacky. But a lot of things people have/wear are ugly and tacky. At the end of the day, it’s not my body, not my choice.
There’s one (quite awesome) young partner in my group whose tattoos are visible if (and often when) he comes into work wearing t-shirts and shorts, but he can fully cover himself up if need be (and I think that’s a wise place to draw the line).
Personally, I’m very anti-tattoo, but that’s from a cultural and aesthetic standpoint. Some people I greatly admire are covered in tattoos (see above awesome partner), and I certainly know to keep my opinions to myself.
I have a tattoo on the back of my neck, and I wear my hair short. You can see it unless I’m in a turtleneck or blazer. No one has ever said anything. It’s a wreath of rosemary, so I think it’s pretty tasteful. I really don’t know what the perception is… let me know what you’d think
