We are short staffed have been for over 6 months, those of us that are left are trying to keep up but we are struggling hard-core. We have had tons of interviews but everyone offered a position (which has been all of them) always says,'oh I have other interviews'. We can't be the only ones dealing with this.
After 13 years in government, really want to get out. Anyone have experience convincing the rest of the world you’re not a “government employee”? I think hiring managers see government work and assume I’m lazy. Ways to get around this?
My boss talks a lot about his inclusive hiring practices while not actually hiring anyone who would represent that. Is there anything we can do?
Is the Workday Payroll Certification really worth it?
Especially considering you can make a similar amount of money doing the other core HCM modules without having to learn about the Practitioner side of things in Payroll.
Also, if you want to exit to an internal role, 9/10 job openings that I see do not even list payroll as a requirement but you'll always see the core modules+ Absence & TT.
Please share your thoughts.

Rocking interviews with a new confidence!
I was recently laid off from a OEM start up in a 20% company wide work force reduction. I have had multiple interviews since then and almost all, except one have said I was being pushed to the next round. Out of the couple that I was told I was pushed to the next round, one or two have just vanished and won’t return emails or phone calls. I understand things can change (found someone better suited) but is this ghosting thing a norm now?
Best career option in tech for generalists?
I’ve been working for almost three years as a “data scientist” at a start up but basically been doing everything from gathering requirements from clients, doing UI/UX design, coding the front-end (angular), building and shipping ML models in sagemaker, and managing AWS infrastructure.
I’m planning to change jobs to find a role with clearer responsibilities. What role in tech suits someone who knows a bit of everything but is a master of none?
I am a PhD student in chemistry on my final year, with some publications but no industry experience. What advice could you give me to get Research Scientist positions at big companies? Considering that I am foreigner national, do companies even bother the hassle of applying for a visa for an employee without "industry" experience?
Hey y’all, need some advice! I live in the DC area, but love being in CO and want to move out to the Denver area at the end of my lease. What are some positives to living in Denver? How is the job market? Cost of living? DC area is too politically charged, too expensive, and has too many federal jobs.
I am 6 weeks pregnant in a stressful job and it is making everything harder. Normally I handle it all well, but now I feel like a total space case, get stressed out more easily, and get so sick to my stomach and tired. This is after nearly a year of fertility treatments which as you know, are also incredibly stressful. How have you coped?

Need some creative thinking here on how to lose weight
1) Cutting carbs trigger my migraine 2) I do 16h intermittent fasting, DFGF 3) I limited to 60 min of being active a day. Working at the computer, and trying to spend as much time as possible with my son. He has cerebral palsy, so being active together is out of question. Him being active means being slow for me. If we go on a hike together he can only walk for 30 min, and he does it slowly. 4) I can’t stick to schedule

Who has an amazing marriage? I need a marriage mentor of sorts-I believe that an amazing marriage can be my marriage but I need help. I don’t have couple friends who are in amazing marriages. Most tolerate or are divorced. We have mentors for other big parts of our lives-career, being a mom…not really anything for marriage! I want to keep believing it can be a source of energy and comfort through life’s ups and downs.
Took a job specifically for experience in-house PE and also took relative paycut. Now thinking about leaving and going back to a firm to round out skills or asking for more $$$. Thoughts?
Working late and being the only person at the office is so weird and amazing. No shoes, shirt untucked, open beer on desk. Blasting inappropriate podcast and pooping with the stall door open. Truly this is how things should be.
