Seconding d1....for what I suspect your YoE are that’s a pretty outstanding offer. I don’t think you’d be leaving money on the table with a $27k annual bonus and an $85k signing. I also don’t really think we can give more pointed advice without more details about location and org....but I’d be kind of surprised if first year directors make that much regularly where ever you’re going
I came from insurance. 1. It’s in a very challenging period, many directors + are cut like nothing 2. Your raises will be virtually 0, you live for the bonus. 3. The people are beyond mediocre 4. If you haven’t been in the insurance industry before, prepare.
Pigs get slaughtered.
How did you get director level when you didn’t even make manager at Deloitte lol? Absolutely take this offer.
Deloitte is slowing the pipeline. 3years as SC is no longer uncommon. It isn't true up or out.
Seems high for someone with likely ~6 YOE?
I’d take it depending on COL and your YOE
Dang, that is a great offer if you ask me..go for it!
Don’t let the 85k signing sway you one way or the other. It’s one time, and will be taxed down to 40k anyway...
@D2 does not understand how taxation works in the US
It’s a good starting offer, but your salary won’t increase much YoY. Plus there’s no opp for equity.
To update anyone that cares - went back for more on base and they wouldn’t budge, but gave an extra 20k on signing. Putting in notice next week. ✌️ out, Deloitte
Good for you!!! Congrats!
How many YOE and what city? Any idea on the trajectory and future earnings there?
Solid offer. Congrats - and good luck with the next steps.
15% bonus is low.
Please go. That’s a great offer
It’s a good offer, for sure, but I’d go back and ask for $200k base and 25% bonus target. If they’re willing to take you from SC to Director, they obviously really like you. As JP2 pointed out, insurance isn’t a field attracting too many top candidates, so you have leverage.
Thanks all for the inputs! Thinking I’ll accept.

Director of corporate strat?
D3 is right. I have always been in banking but I couldn’t go to insurance.
Agree with J1
Health insurance?
Depends on the city!
Sounds like a great score. I wouldn't wait.
