as someone who went to an Ivy and spent a lot of time at Harvard: don’t worry, they’re mostly dumbasses too, just dumbasses with better last names
Love it
Who cares? They aren’t a god. You got the interview so you belong. Crush it
sit on the table to assert dominance
This is the way

I have a similar background with your interviewer. I went to an Ivy, got a near-perfect GPA, worked at BCG, then MBA at Stanford, and I still feel like a fraud all the time. MBB people are super insecure lol
Rising Star
Because they paid for my MBA 😢
A gilded degree and a prestigious firm doesn’t qualify anyone anymore than the next guy or gal, in and of itself. If you’ve got the experience, consider yourself on an even playing field. Your only fear is that you have put these things, such as a Harvard UG and a position at an MBB on a likely unrealistic pedestal. To quote Charles de Gaulle... “There can be no prestige without mystery, for familiarity breeds contempt.” Once you realize that folks with these quals aren’t Demi gods, and you are just as capable, you’ll be a lot better off.
Stop dwelling on the rankings of your school and past employers and start focusing on your skills and abilities, which clearly are good enough to make you competitive for this job. Then, kick ass.
Respect them and kneel down before them to reassert your low position on this earth.
You are an imposter.
If the team does hire you, that person has to reckon with the fact that you two still ended up with the same job. That person could also have “failed” out of MBB. Ultimately, neither of you will be doling rocket science, so there’s nothing to be intimidated by. You’ll be working with the same decks and excel models that some exec probably won’t end up reading thoroughly anyways
The only time I would feel very out of my depth with people is if I was interviewing with a super technical team somewhere like Google. But that is more out of respect for the things that they do. So don’t sweat it unless you’re trying to do some AI research and your interviewer is some Stanford PhD
Low state school to T2 is probably a bigger 'upjump' than T2 to wherever you are going. Don't sweat it, also, we are all imposters, that's consulting.
Everyone is a person. Don’t get too high or too low. Treat and respect the CEO the same way you do the janitor, and never get down on yourself and your story.

I remember I went to Michigan "The Harvard of the West" 😂
