Hi Fishes, I have received an offer from Barclays for AVP position. But the role discussed during interview was for Tech Delivery Manager whereas the offer letter mentions it as Tech Delivery Lead. Can you guys please suggest if it is the same role or should I request recruiter to get the role updated? Moreover it would be great if any of you can shed some light on the prospects/challenges of this role based on your experiences. Barclays Barclays global service center

Bain & Company I received an offer to join Bain & Company for SF office but due to family reasons, I will have to stay in the South Bay. Given Bain’s local staffing model, it will be challenging for me to commute to SF and back. Is it possible to be transferred to the palo alto office/is that office fully functioning or does it mainly serve as a hub for partners and research?

IN my experience, whether they like you is all that matters. That might be influenced by how well you do the case but the cases are not recorded so they have complete discretion to present a narrative to the HR team
Sorry y’all are asssuming you have more control over your unconscious biases. If you like someone you’re more likely to view their performance on the case as good and Vice versa.
Of course you can’t 100% eliminate your biases, but we have a specific rubric with examples of what constitutes performance at different levels (0-3). I’ve had candidates I really clicked with and was telepathically willing on to just do better, but they didn’t and I couldn’t honestly put in writing that they had achieved levels 2-3 across the various dimensions (which is realistically what you need to get to pass)

It depends. “Okay” and “really likes me” aren’t on the rubric I can promise you that

How well you answer the fit questions, how well you structure the case, drive the case, do the math, engage with exhibits, brainstorm, and finish out. Then there’s an overall presence and communication.
There are tons of people I “really like” who are a “no.” This isn’t a popularity contest. Personality helps on the margins but fundamentally you need to pass the bar on case performance.

I’ve had plenty of people think that I liked them during interviews , but I really didn’t. I was being polite and engaging to reduce their stress levels throughout the case. That is often mistaken for true rapport.
I think the OP is asking the inverse of this. If you actually did like someone would you likely pass them along to the next round?
Coach
You probably won’t pass. The AI evaluation is not heavily weighted.
I have dinged lots of people that I really liked if they didn't do well on my case. If they were ok on the case, I would see what the other interviewers say. I would not fight for somebody that did just ok...
You have to do well on the case. There’s no way around that. Good fit is an added bonus but can’t compensate for poor case performance.
