Hi fishes Will work from home in FIS continue atleast upto Dec 2022? Any idea? FIS Global
I got offer in Bangalore FIS and my husband got an offer with one big company in Hyderabad. Both companies are currently WFH only but in future, I might have to consider moving to Hyderabad. Fis doesn't have office in Hyderabad so I was wondering if I can ask permanent WFH later. I guess I will be put in fis payment solution.
Thanks in advance. Kindly let me know. FIS Global

There are still some needy managers or dept heads who feel they can’t “manage” if they can’t physically see everyone.
I think some are also just extroverts who want more social interaction and/or to feel like a “boss” vs having real work concerns.
Perhaps this will show we need less managers.
Most people’s definition of managing is making sure people clock (at least) 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week.
So if they can’t keep track of this, they literally don’t know what to do with themselves.
I’m curious to see how it evolves.
Certainly the work from home forced “proof of concept” over the last 3 months has shown it’s not just viable but preferable and more efficient for many roles.
My company has not openly addressed this but I know it’s being discussed.

My agency has been really proactive about all of this.
They’ve acknowledged that no one at the company feels comfortable going back to the office until there’s a vaccine/some other form of immunity.
They’ve also acknowledged that post-Covid, people will want to work remotely more of the time and meet in-person only when it’s actually valuable to do so.
What agency is this
I think a key consideration and variance person to person is really what your home office situation is.
Eg: a multiple roommate situation in a tiny manhattan apt or with kids is hugely different than an actual quiet dedicated home office space in your large private home in Connecticut. As an example!
Yes, this! Plus, childcare / how open (or not) schools will be.
Pro
This might be controversial, but I kinda don’t care what my company’s policy is. My health and the health of my family and whether or not and how I would put myself at risk is 100% my call. Until there’s a viable and accessible treatment and/or vaccine, I truly don’t give a rats ass what the policy is.

I agree.
Not sure either. Pretty sure no one knows what to do. No real model for working in an office and WFH seems to be working fine for most.
I saw a floor plan last week that actually consolidated the space to make up for agency financial issues. So, as I said, pretty sure no one knows what they’re doing.

If this recession/ pandemic drags on you will see agencies close physical offices altogether. They are just burning money unnecessarily .
Publicis is WFH (unless an exceptional reason) for the rest of 2020
This is going to be interesting between markets.
I wonder if the consolidated/less space is based on assuming less people coming in.
But agree, no one has a clear plan. Maybe understandably given we are all making this up as we go.
Personally I want to see many more virtual offices/wfh as the standard.
I assume so. Wondering if it moves to more of a shared workspace model where, say, IPG has X,000 seats/work stations and X00 conference rooms throughout the metro area for all their agencies (I’m in NYC) and you can book/use the spaces as necessary.
Then people work a handful of days together the rest remotely. It would literally save millions of dollars that could go into staff and more competitive salaries.
I loathed WFH before this, but the viability is pretty real even post-Covid as we have a pretty good proof of concept going.
Some of our agencies are closed until after labor day
I’m planning on finding a role that lets me work remote and then move out of the country.

My agency is going to continue to give us the option to WFH
