Does this person do it with everyone or just you? Make sure it's who they are not your interaction with that person.
As a leader at Havas it's unacceptable for them to treat you that way and they should be mature in their handling of the situation.
Remember anyone can be a manager but leaders are a unique breed. Be a leader and handle yourself like one (no matter what level you are) and how bad the other person is.
I'm sorry for what are going through. Hope this helps.
They get very defensive if you try to challenge them in any way. No proactive thinking, do things their way.
Did you provide this feedback (constructively) in your formal review? Have you booked a recurring 1:1? If genuinely abuse, have you spoken to HR?
So I don’t want to bring HR in this just yet. It usually makes things worse, because we are talking high ranks here.
They have similar behavior with others in the team but they are juniors and don’t know any better. I think their frustration over the disagreements we have is worsen by the fact that I, unintentionally, challenge their intellect and processes. They seem to have hired me to be their clone, instead of bringing my skills to add value to their work. But now they won’t even have me do top work, and pushed me to do mid-level chores.
Looking to have 1:1s but they keep giving me the run around.
Thank you for empathizing. It’s definitely not a pleasant situation to be in, considering there’s that added layer of stressed from all of this crisis.
