How is the work life balance in Citi?
Here is the scenario: Have 2 offers from IT MNCs and 1 from Citi. Citi's offer is the highest. Almost 5 lakhs diff in the fixed component. Although money is important, but I am also seeking a little balance with life. I was previously in ZS Associates and to be frank, life was hell. I am not looking to relive that phase again.
What are the daily actual working hours?
Shall I join Citi or let go it for a lower package offer?

@CD 1 - I tend to agree, but I’m worried that most auto clients aren’t exactly known for taking creative risks... though, if the clients are good, I’m happy for that to be my problem to fix. ;)
Auto is very retail heavy, very feature heavy. I found that to be stifling and unpleasant. Made it hard to make interesting work for all the effort that was asked of us. Just ended up with shots of people driving
I love auto. You learn a ton and actually see the work on all platforms. Yes, auto clients can be crazy and unpredictable, and it’s a fast paced work life. For the most part, auto clients seem to get it - they’re just under a lot of pressure.
Bigger role. Integrated work. New category. All three of these seem like good reasons to say yes. If the pay is competitive and the work is good, and you think that the culture is decent there, go. Later in your career you'll be glad to have had more category experience.
Small auto makers. There are only a few. Mazda which does awful work but makes amazing cars, Mitsubishi which does awful work and makes awful cars. Infinity which makes awful work and pretty good cars. And Tesla which is awesome but doesn't advertise.
I suppose I should say most brands don't take any risks these days. Does the agency have a history of encouraging calculated risks from clients on other accounts?
Other accounts, you say?
I assumed the prospective new role was at an agency, and one
with a track record and other accounts.
Auto experience is useful and everyone who understands the category will also understand the limitations on creativity. It’s useful because there are no bigger budgets than auto and there never will be (it’s pretty much the most complicated and expensive purchase decision major brands are involved in ((house purchases cost more but are more of a local seller market))) so this will open up an entire new set of options for you
Also if you want, you’ll learn so much about how other agency functions are adding more value than ever - and this will in turn make you so much better at selling work in any other category
