Hello all, I am a supply chain planner for manufacturing of bespoke rigs and also procure for some projects (all engineering based /research). However I do not come from an engineering background and feel like I’m finding it hard to move up. I am not sure what I can do to improve my knowledge, skills and chances to move to managerial positions, I’m also considering whether I should switch industries or get a masters degree. Any advice to give me some direction is greatly appreciated. Thx

Have you looked into any professional certifications for supply chain (CPIM, etc.)?

like

Yes I am considering the CIPS course, I am based in the uk. I noticed some masters programs are CIPS accredited so they automatically grant you MCIPS along with masters, although price for a masters is steep

There are plenty of demand planner positions available with growth opportunities in the CPG industry! I currently lead a team of 7 demand planners, as a Sr. Manager, so it is possible!

Thank you, I will look into CPG industry

Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks

Need career advice. Trying to break into a finance role, preferably an Analsyt role but I have no transferable experience. I worked as a mortgage loan officer (which is sales) for 2 years after college, but since mortgage is such a niche industry, no hard skills transfer and have no relevant undergrad internships unfortunately. I know I can essentially get any sales job I want in finance IE: financial advisor etc. but don’t want to be stuck in sales forever. Any advice?

Hi Guys,

I am a ReactJS developer (frontend) with 3.8 years of experience. I currently switched my company but they don't have an opening for ReactJS and kept me on a bench for 3 months and they are telling me now to learn AEM technology and work on the AEM project for now.
They hired me for a package of 16 LPA.
So my questions are is it a good technology to learn? Should I say yes and have a career in it?
Will I get the same package like ReactJS or less? What is future if compared with React?

Hi, received an offer from another Big4 in Amsterdam (currently working in Eastern Europe), but relocating, I’m concerned about potential layoffs in the coming period being the last to join the team.

Wow! What a day! What type of company starts layoffs right before the holidays? Lost my job this morning and I am stressed out. Is there any chance of finding a new job before the holidays? I'm doubting it.

Not sure where the disconnect is. Anyone else going through this same thing?
