McKinsey & Company I am joining the McKinsey & Company Boston office in late July and searching for housing in the meantime. If I could get some insight on the ratio of days in the office vs work from home that would be super helpful!
If I need to come into the office regularly I will try to find a place close by.

Hybrid is definitely the best way. I was recently laid off from a job that was remote and then was forced to 5 days a week. I was great working remote, but learned that I wasn’t really bonding with any coworkers. I dreaded the office. No one was friendly and I didn’t work with anyone from my team. They had social events that I helped host but the other teams would isolate.
I had a member of our team come to work in my office from NYC for a few days and it totally changed my perspective. The office became tolerable. I think you have to find an in office Bestie someone that you can chat about work with talk about your life, go grab a coffee and do social things at the office.
I work remote and I feel like I’m rotting away. Zero social interactions, gaining massive weight from emotional eating, and sometimes crying in bed because I hate my job, and lost all my social skills.

Can you change that to Hybrid? My best friend is also going through it. However, life just threw my friend a curve ball so I do not believe she will have those issues for at least a couple of years. We shall see.
My firm allows us to work from home whenever we want/need to. Most of the time I find myself preferring to be in the office to see coworkers and I am usually more productive and less distracted.
