Hello! Any tips on entering mid/big law or in-house upon graduation. Currently, a 3L at a New York school (not top ranked), 3.17 GPA. I do have good work experience working as a state judicial law intern, member of a hybrid SA program between my school and a big-law firm, and currently as an intern working on Smart Contracts and a legal advisor to the company’s CLM team. However, its been difficult to get my foot in the door and I am worried its because of grades. Can anyone provide some advice?

Networking is key in my opinion. I was middle of my class and interned in-house for multiple companies during law school. Then moved to a different state. Struggled a bit but networking was key for me to enter a great mid sized firm in a major market

Thank you for that, I appreciate it!

I would say the main thing is finding somewhere you can get some good experience. Nothing wrong with starting at small firm for a year or two and then transitioning.

I was fired last month after a short time at the company. I knew things weren't going well- it was a terrible culture fit & I was also planning my exit strategy. They wouldn't give me specific reasons other than to vaguely say it was performance related. I agree I made a few dumb mistakes (none of any dire consequence) but what kills me is that I tried really hard. I don't want to change careers but I have a deep seeded fear that no matter how hard I try, I will never be a "good attorney".

I started in a State Farm office and was allowed 8 general leads a day (lucky if the phone number is working) then to call thru the book to generate life business and pivot to multi-line. I worked my tail off and became the top producer with an office full of boys (nothing against it just stating) I had to transition to another company and am thriving but wondering- is there more out there? But I have no women contacts
