I always wanted to mention in addition to my full time job I’m also a contracted designer with Havenly. I’m ready to make the move to designing full time. Havenly is a great opportunity to grow my portfolio, but I’m learning that I have more of a passion for the architectural aspects of design. Thanks in advance for any advice! :)
Hey! I worked in healthcare for 5 years and made the switch to interior design! I went back to school and got my bachelors in interior design. Have a unique portfolio! Don’t use a template because everyone uses the same one (if you take a look on Issuu, you’ll see what I mean). Let it tell a story about you and your style of work. Take the viewers on a journey. If you’re wanting to do any form of commercial design most jobs require a bachelors or associates degree in interior design from a CIDA accredited school. You could reach out to companies to see if they offer shadowing so you can build connections. Good luck!
