Could someone kindly provide insights into the essential skills needed to enter the field of private equity (PE) or venture capital (VC)?

Has anyone left big 4 or other PA firms tax transaction service groups for industry (or know of anyone)? What was the role and salary bump, how are annual bonuses/raises in industry, what is a typical work week (hours) like? I don’t think I can take this always on just to stay afloat life much longer. For context I am considered a high performer, am near the top of the salary band at my level and have a great supporting network at Deloitte. It’s just not worth it to have zero personal life.

Any recs for insightful and well written books on entrepreneurship? Friend is trying to launch his own startup so I’m thinking of sending him a relevant book as part of a thank you gift

Hello All. I have 7 years of work exp in Data analytics & Data engineering team. Right now managing a team of 12. Will PMP certification help in career growth ? Needed some view points.

So, a recruiter gave me feedback that my lack SPHR or SHRM-SCP is causing my resume to be knock out by AI and human recruiters despite my position and work history in Multinationals and being in Technology. They suggested that we put SPHR ( Lapsed). I let it lapse in 2017. What is your opinion? Plus if I were to take another certification - should I take SPHR or SHRM-SCP?

I work at M&A Strategy. But we hardly do any M&A activities (that are limited to separation and integration) and I want move eventually to PE/VC. Do you think I should look for other working options?

Are there any good PM certification that’s worthwhile? Not something that’s on Udemy for 2 hours of coursework.
Most “certifications” I’ve seen seem a bit superficial… but my current PM job feels like a glorified project manager role so I was hoping to use my extra time to study/earn a certificate to show my skill. If possible.

Hi All - I’m at a firm that has some infrequent in-house training but not enough to help me develop skills to eventually become a trial lawyer. I know cases rarely make it to trial anymore, but I’d like to develop my skills as much as possible to position myself well when they do. Any working mothers in here who loves the company they’re working for? I am thinking about switching firms and need some honest thoughts on companies that doesn’t only say, but actually practice flexibility for work life balance and offers good $$$.

I am a high performer at my current firm but they started questioning working arrangements of folks based on the new members who are huge in-office folks, fast turnover within the team, etc. This wasn’t an issue when I first joined.
