Accepting an offer in IBD, lateraling over from consulting. Opportunity of a lifetime for me so don’t want to lose it.
But timing is horrible. I joined the Army Reserves before this opportunity was on my radar. Interviewed over several months, got the offer, but shipping out in 1 month for training for 6 months.
Do I irreversibly shoot my career by joining and immediately going on LoA? I obviously haven’t mentioned it in the interview process. Or will this be forgotten a couple years in?

Is it just me or do 90% of the jobs being laid off by big tech sound made up? Many job descriptions with multiple bullet points that all kinda revolve around the same idea. Just a thing what I have experienced.

I had an offer from one company that gave 90 percent hike even when notice was 90 days. Now that a month close is left I just gave 4 four interviews in a day taking a leave an all got cleared. The offers getting are aggressive too. But in my experience what I have seen that the quality of interview has gone down compared to offline ones. Please let me know your experiences.
