I tend to overwork myself and it’s really taking a toll on my mental well-being. I want to learn a lot and prove myself to my superiors so that they recognize me/see value. Now my work has a sense of dread to it. I watched my parents be workaholics growing up, so it’s all I know. I’m also goal-oriented and driven, so achieving a lot scratches that itch for me. But, it’s making me want to quit cause I’m burned out and depressed….im not sure what to do. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Can anyone tell me how well CitiusTech pays salaries for onsite opportunity. Is it worth it given all the expenses. He has a offer of around 16 LPA with YOE 7+ Automation Testing. He is expected to get more offers. Will it be worth it to stay back in India or US?

If you're a complete novice to programming then I would suggest you to start with Python as your weapon of choice and navigate to YouTube for all the tutorials and stuff. Remember, Syntax + Logic is the key. YouTube is an ocean in itself. If you've a zeal in you, then I am quite sure you will definitely be able to grasp things quickly. When you are comfortable with the syntax, head towards Hackerrank and start solving the ALGORITHMS section. Start solving problems and keep solving them untill you get a 5-star bagde over there. Don't look at the "Discussions" page at all.
Logic building is one thing which you'll learn with time. Nobody is an expert. Just go with the flow. Participate in coding challenges and don't forget to checkout "Project Euler" on Hackerrank.
Parallelly, start learning git and maintain a git repo. Start creating PoCs and keep uploading your work on a git repo. Other than that, in the industry very few people follow the best practices and coding standards. Keep those things in mind.
If you already have a coding background then I would suggest you to go with Java as a language, but don't use Java in competitive programming. Rest of the things remain the same.
Whether or not you come from a coding background, have a good grasp over Linux and learn Linux commands.
Most of the guys might as well say that you should go for Data Science, AI/ML and stuff. Don't listen to them. Industry will make sure that you get hands-on experience on BigData, AI/ML, Data Science, Blockchain, Cloud, etc. Focus on your coding skills for now.
All of this might sound overwhelming at first but what I believe is, "If I can do it, then anyone can do it".
One more thing, it's college. You're there to learn. Learning should be fun and not exhaustive. Make sure you indulge yourself in other things as well, roam around in college campus, enjoy life, make friends but make sure you don't deviate from your goal.
Remember, "Time management is the key". Happy learning and all the best for your future.
Others, feel free to add more things. 🙂
