Also I have 3+ years of work experience. I pivoted my career to data science last year. Eventually I want to map out the road to become a TPM. Equity analysis looks really interesting to me, how can I break into this field? Do I go get an MBA? Do I just start writing analysis on a blog and hope someone likes what I have to say? Hey everyone, I’m 22 and work in healthcare staffing (9-5) getting paid 50k total comp while I go to school for accounting. But I really want to get accounting experience before I graduate so I can go to PA, but I can’t take a pay cut but honestly I have zero formal accounting experience besides the classes I’ve taken. It just doesn’t feel right right to start from the very scratch in a MNC after post-grad.

My MBA batchmates are placed as AM’s and M’s with good packages. I am still struggling.

Leaving MBB after ~18 months to join a MM GE fund as an associate on the deal team. I’m seeing some people leave MBB after ~3/4 years join PE Ops with higher comp ($400-600k+). Does Ops comp surpass deal team if you’re leaving from MBB instead of banking?

J1 & J2 together make about 200k although there is no room for growth in either but WLB is amazing (< 10hrs per week). Stuck contemplating if I should abandon overemploy to chase promotions seeing that I could eventually get to my current salary with my job. Just feeling a little stuck over all. I know many consultants most likely make more. Any one else feel this way or have any thoughts? I was thinking of looking for a different J1 and slowly try to climb up if possible.

Received an offer to join a consulting firm as a Consultant specializing in Data Analytics and Visualization. TC is $180K. I would work with the big tech clients. My current base barely breaks $160K but the equity brings TC to about $185K however we are still private so not really $185K. I’m not enjoying the current role and am beginning to look for other opportunities internally. I do like the company culture and people. Should I try to stay and accept the lower salary or take a risk and jump?

been in industry (small companies) for 5 years with an active CPA. Wanted to get in SEC reporting roles but almost every company requires 2-year public accounting exp. Now applying for public accounting firms entry level positions but almost all firms HR asked if I had ever worked in firms. Got rejection emails from firms all the time. Is this a dead lock? firms exp matters much more than a CPA license?

I was working on a function app based on Azure. I am facing an issue while run/test code in function app: internal server error 500. When I checked the logs, it showed Rpc Exception for Microsoft Azure Webjobs Script Workers. Not sure how to make the function app work again. Is it also related to the registered app with Microsoft graph Api which have delegated permissions? Struggling to find a solution.

Graduating with PhD in comp neuro next year. I just did a week long internship at MBB to check out consulting, which I loved but ultimately will not be accepting my offer for life considerations (my wife also works at MBB and we have young children).
