Hello, I interviewed for a Senior Solutions Architect role (L6) at Amazon. After the loop interview, the recruiter informed me that the feedback was positive (incline), but for an L5 position. I agreed to consider L5, but the recruiter stated the team I interviewed with doesn't have L5 openings and they would need to find a different role. Is this a genuine possibility, or is it a polite rejection?

What this should mean is that you’ve been approved by a Bar Raiser to be hired as an L5 in the same job family. If you find an L5 SA that team doesn’t need to take you through a full process. They can choose to just have a single interview with you or do a mini loop.
Don’t rely on your recruiter. Apply for roles directly and just let this recruiter know which roles you’ve applied for. It will be on the system (HIRE) that you have BR approval for L5 SA. This pre-approval lasts for 6 months. NOTE: I’m an ex- Bar Raiser

I've reviewed other openings, but I'm finding limited L5 Solutions Architect roles outside of the Devices team (Fire TV and tablets). Is it permissible to apply to roles in other Amazon teams? Also, are there any restrictions on the number of openings I can apply to?

Hi no this is a genuine possibility. If you’re amazon fit, they will find different opportunities in different teams to help you excel. It might be different team but they will find a role that best suits your expertise

like

Awesome, congratulations! How long did it take them to find a fit? Also, did you have to interview again?

Interesting same thing happened to me.. I agree to your inference .. this seems to be polite rejection and to top that there is no clear feedback..

Hi all,

I have cleared all the interviews for Walmart and salary negotiations are also done. A month ago the recruiter said that they are waiting on some approvals and once it is done we will be issuing the offer letter but I haven't heard back any other update since then. Am I getting rejected or is it normal to be on hold without any update for a month at this stage?

Working Moms/Dads: Do in-house positions exist with flex time hours? I need to be able to leave work at 4pm to pick up my son from daycare, but i can get back online at home to resume any unfinished work at 8pm. Is this realistic to convey to any companies in an interview? Pandemic aside, is face time 9-7pm really important? Or should i just try to find a job with a salary that covers a nanny salary and accept that i will never see my son on weekdays (which would be sad for both of us)? TIA!

I don't want to be too hasty and choose something just because, but I also think continuing to see homes isn't really making my decision any easier. Thanks!

I am in a confused state of mind with my current situation & I can surely use some advice from you guys.
I'm working with a product company for almost 5+ yrs now & recently decided to separate from them for obvious compensation reasons.
I have multiple offers now with product/service based companies.
The top and the best offer I have is from a service based organization of almost 100% hike.
Now my company wants to retain me & offering me even higher. What should I do?

Went through multi-day loop for L5 SA and felt confident in my interactions. Presentation went well with no lack of answers for follow up questions. Just found out 6 days later I will not be receiving an offer, and it is policy to not provide feedback of gaps or reasons behind no offer. Also found out they ask you not to reapply for 1 to 2 years for same role. Would anyone recommend an alternate path for feedback on interview (outside of recruiter) and is the 1-2 year policy true?
