As others said, please call your advice nurse line at the OBGYN. It could be delayed swelling that goes down on its own, or it could be postpartum preeclampsia (or something else). No harm in talking with the right medical professionals 🙏🏻
The pitting edema I had post-c section was crazy- my ankles and feet were absolute balloons. My OB said that’s not uncommon, and as others have said above, the best things to do were hydrate and try to walk around. It went away after a few weeks. No harm in sending your OB a portal message (I sent mine a picture of my marshmallow feet!😂), just in case, but don’t worry too much, it’s not abnormal.
Also had pitting edema but post vaginal birth+epidural.
Call your doc and make sure it’s not anything to worry about… if it were me, I would call the emergency nurse line just to be safe. How is your blood pressure?
Congratulations on the baby! Mine was similar to yours. I had more swelling postpartum and also developed high blood pressure. I wanted to go to the ER but ended up calling my obgyn and he told us to just monitor the blood pressure and use compression socks for the swelling. It went down after 2 weeks. Saved us a trip to the ER with a new born
Depending on how high the blood pressure this may be the right route. I drove my self to urgent care 4 days after giving birth (48 hours after coming home) and was sent to the ER. The nurses in L&D that admitted me basically told me I shouldn’t have been walking let alone driving. My blood pressure was like 205/120 by the time the ER admitted me, but was like 165/100 when I first went in. Hospitalized for 3 days - be sure to get checked out!
Pro
Compression socks + drink an absurd amount of water
Defo seek medical advice.
Keep in mind high levels of salt (sodium) causes water retention. Potassium is good at tackling it - found in things like bananas, sweet potatoes, spinach, beans, salmon, and yogurt.
Yea I’d recommend calling the emergency help line to make sure too. For me, the swelling took about 2 weeks to fully go down. But during pp, it wasn’t worse than when I was pregnant for sure. Sorry you are struggling with it, hopefully it will subside soon.

I had the same post c-section and it felt much worse than the swelling I had during pregnancy. My doctor said it was common and to hydrate and move around as much as you can.
Definitely get medical advice and have your BP checked ASAP. That said I understand from my nurse that a lot of the fluids that were previously in our belly kind of fall down to our ankles/legs after delivery. If you had any IV fluids during delivery then it will be much worse. I had one bag of Pitocin after delivery only and whoa Nelly it was bad on my second day PP.
Agree with the above and to add on.. get off the phone and enjoy your new bundle! This time is so precious
I do a lot of screen time while breastfeeding. It gets boring.
