So I currently made a decision that I felt right! I have been working as a BA. for 2 yrs. However I felt the role was extremely functional (I was a tech BA). I got paranoid of not having any actual skills and decided to switch to a role in startup where I get to be a BA and work on automation testing as well. I have been successful in learning automation from Scratch.
My future goal is to get my salary 2x in 1/1.5 yrs Max. Will the added skillset help me to achieve 2x?

I come from a target school in India (say MBB / T2 hires from my college every year) with ~1 YOE in consulting - based in Dubai. Just venting. College friend (same ethnicity but came to US with family as a kid) told me she might get a new job offer w a smaller firm, 50% pay bump. We currently work at comparable big firms but her pay is already higher than mine (hers include stocks, mine doesn’t). We did equally well in college & I know I’m just as smart. Can’t help but feel like my career’d have been much better if I did not need sponsorship. Smaller firms don’t sponsor so I work at a big firm but pay isn’t great 🙄
