Resigned last week from a job with a horrible manager. In the process learned that the other team member is toxic and poisoning my reputation in front of others behind my back. I am so relieved!

So embarrassed. I literally had one job to do today which was to schedule a client and give and take her paperwork when she came in. Totally called her by the wrong name today AND gave her the wrong paperwork. She was really nice about it but I feel like my boss was disappointed and I'm disappointed in myself. I don't want her to think I won't be able to keep clients straight when I start doing supervised sessions.

I’ve accepted I suck at work. And I don’t know what people get from humiliating or criticizing you to the point you think you are worthless.

Over the past year, my counsel is constantly judged by a select few senior business folks (eg arguing over FTC compliance, IP risk counsel, and even simple things regarding NDAs that any attorney wouldn’t question. It’s very frustrating that my own team is the one I have to defend my logic to (and not opposing counsel). It feels like they want a rubber stamper, which is not me.I never faced this at my prior in-house roles (probably because they were much a larger). Any advice on how to handle?

How did you give notice you were lateraling to people you like? Particularly if you haven't been there that long?

I'm lateraling to another firm because frankly I think the management of this one is terrible, but the people (and individual partners) I actually work with are awesome. I've only been here for about 18 months, so I imagine that short time frame will make it extra awkward 😬

I’ve been working with a founder/small biz freelancing as their digital producer for a little bit. I’m having issues lately because they won’t give me a budget for content they want to make for their site/Instagram. Anyone feel as if it’s hard to stay with a company when you’re the only one of color? (&young) I’ve work for 3 companies in past 5 years and have yet to make meaningful colleague relationships. Let’s talk about wrongful termination. The other day I was fired in the middle of the day without any warning. My colleagues called me because they were confused on why the Talent Manager dismissed me from the chat. I didn’t know what they were referring to.
