Help bouncing back when you don’t get that in house job that felt like the perfect fit and strung you along for 2 interviews and almost 2 months? I am so miserable working at a law firm and I can’t seem to get out, even when I’m told my applications are great and the interviews seem to go well. I’m a sixth year associate so I have plenty of experience.

Hang in there. It’s disheartening. I’m in house and miserable and now thinking of leaving the law entirely.

I know it’s cheesy but when the right opportunity comes along, it will work out.

The whole process of transitioning can be tiresome.

I’m at a major Academic Health Center. The volume and pace of work is fast and furious and optics and politics matter a lot. Our job is like project management + legal advice but little analysis. As in house lawyers your so busy pleasing your clients and helping run the org that the real interesting legal questions get sent to outside counsel. Plus it can make you very cynical about healthcare (more than normal). Also pay is not commensurate with hours/pressure given healthcare is a high risk industry.

I just went through this. No advice but I choose to believe everything really does happen for a reason. Hang in there. ❤️

I agree with the others! I recently interviewed for a position that seemed like a sure thing, yet I didn’t get it. I have no idea why. All I can do is focus that things happen for a reason.

I am a 7th year and have been applying and interviewing for in-house for about a year. Three got really serious (one company I had five rounds of interviews and made it to the last round with the multinational company’s CEO and CFO) and I was passed in the last round on all three for individuals with 15-25 years experience. This is to say that the market is very competitive right now and it’s absolutely nothing personal or a comment on your skill or fit - sometimes it’s easier to justify the money on someone else for any number of reasons.

Hey all! I went through the interviewing process with a company and we had a verbal agreement on X amount of salary per year. They liked me and extended an offer but the offer was for $15K less than what we agreed bc that’s what HR approved for. I was desperate so I took it. Accepting this offer meant that I had to relocate to the other side of the country. Omw that was 2500 miles, I received a call that they rescinded the offer. Is there anything legal that I can do to sue them?
