Fidelity Investments I joined FIL on 08th August 2022 and hence was eligible for appraisal but even after a good feedback, I was told that there is no increment in salary as well as bonus because of "Too Soon To Decide" rating. And this is being followed not just in our team but in whole FIL. This is the first time I am hearing such kind of thing and didn't found any thing like this on "HR Hub". Is HARMAN really recruiting for permanent remote roles? Would they ask us to come to office after sometime? I am a bachelor woman supporting my sickly parents and can't move them out of city. Sounds very back-office. Not that that's a bad thing but definitely strikes me as a member of the team we'd request analysis from in building out market sizing or forecasting industry trends.
Basically analysis we'd outsource just like deck design work.
Tough to say because these types of support functions, I'd assume, vary in scope and responsibility across firms.
This was from a firm I was previously with, but we did not outsource any of the financial modelling. That fell squarely on the shoulders of the deal team.
If we needed to potentially size a market or forecast growth of say new housing starts or demand for mid-sized SUVs over a 5 - 10 year period in the future, we'd outsource that. Then we'd either use the product created to drive inputs and growth assumptions in our models or use it as a standalone analysis in a deck.
It would be hard to say without knowing the firm. It sounds like they want to bring more aspects in-house than usual.
Sounds like what I'm describing in my reply above. I'd imagine it's just a lot of the ancillary analysis that deal teams typically outsource.
Ask your interviewer why a "typical day" looks like. Ask what types of analysis and work product you'd be tasked with. That'll tell you everything you need to know about the position.
