Hey All, I am looking for book recommendations for my dad who just retired as a partner after 33 years at his firm. Any ideas you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Op, we don’t all have the same taste in literature just because we are partners.

Some additional info would be helpful or you maybe better off going to a local bookstore.

Introduce him to fishbowl. That should keep him busy educating disgruntled young minds.

Jack Reacher series.

Something light and fun and hopefully your dad didn’t consult for the military or something, and spend the entire time complaining about inaccuracies in the story.

Autobiographies are always a good idea

David Brooks has a book called Second Mountain (or something similar) speaking about how people who have been successful in one aspect of life can channel that spirit to other avenues

I have heard from friends working in different companies about Synechron. Employees working hours are very closely monitored at Synechron.

Employees have to spend 9 hours inside Office rather than Synechron premise.

Also, employees have some app installed in their virtual machines which tracks the duration for which they were logged in.

Is this true?Wanted to confirm from someone who are working with Synechron.

Starting a new job next month, and considering taking two days off for kids’ spring break next month. Not sure whether it’s appropriate to request time off for a new job (I would’ve preferred not to take any time off for first three months). I may just be able to just ask for a single Friday off (so 1 day rather than 2 days).

Any thoughts on whether I should proceed with the request? I just came from big law and want to make sure I’m not making a bad impression on my colleagues.

I am writing this message besides the staff group of EY GDS. Specifically Staff -1 at assurance level. I would request everyone to spare few minutes and read it -

Wanted to bring out that staff-1's are paid peanuts (3.33L CTC) please don't expect them to slog 12-13 hours. They don't have enough motivation or incentives to work that long. Seniors,AM's and Managers should be more kind and explain the work to them clearly rather than making last minute changes.

I am currently working as a delivery manager for a data science project where I manage both ML and DE teams. I am not sure what career path should I follow.

Should I move into either a core technical data science/data engineering role or move into a techno-managerial role like a program or project manager? What role would be best in terms of money, growth, and job security?
