Hey all! I need your advice on negotiating salary for a program manager role level 60 at Microsoft. I was thinking

Base salary - $125K
Sign on bonus -$15k
Rsu - Not sure yet
Fixed Bonus - 10%
Performance Bonus and Stock Grant - Not sure yet

I'd focus on negotiating the level more than anything else. Level 60 is associate level. 61 and 62 are standard level and 63 - 64 are senior. The higher the level the more bonus potential comes every year.

like

Is this what you're trying to negotiate?

like

Are you asking in preparation for a conversation about pay with them or have they already made an initial offer?

likesmart

yeah, I think with a higher base, this would be pretty solid

like

ask for more on the base salary, negotiate your PTO

like

Fixed Bonus of 10% at that level is limiting your potential. The average person at that level gets 10%. Above average gets more.

I recently started in a sales role. Have a heavy consulting background (20 years) imagine big four and SI experience. Question - from here how easy or difficult is it to move internally. Some Business Intelligence/Analyst roles are very data heavy. I wonder why these roles do not have the term “data” in them, and wonder if it’s to keep the salary lower than it should be. I have colleagues doing intense data science tasks as BI Analysts, and can’t help but feel indignant on their behalf because when hearing their job title, one would underestimate their technical ability.

Hi everyone. I’m a front end software engineer. I’m interviewing next week for a solutions engineer at a company I really like, which I mistakenly applied for as I saw they needed ReactJS, JavaScript, HTML/CSS. Upon reading the job description, it’s clear I will be doing a lot of sales and client consulting over actually coding. I know they have a FE SWE role open. How would you approach asking the recruiter if there are any SWE openings I could be considered for instead ?

1. I enjoy the people management more than individual contributor stuff. What career paths do you see in our industry for people who are managing support engineering teams?
2. What certifications are valued today? Seems like being a AWS Cloud Practitioner is a good general one, but are there others that stand out?
