Hey guys just wanting to know ... I’m from New York and wanting to move to LA how is the freelance world out there?

how do we get out?! i’ve been doing office work in a grocery store for too long… this was supposed to help me transition out of hospitality but it feels like i’m going to be stuck in a grocery store for the rest of my career
i guess i just need to voice my frustrations. it’s not that i hate my job or the field, i don’t. i’m just feeling extremely overwhelmed and discouraged i think. does anyone really, truly enjoy what they do in retail/hospitality?? needing some positivity

What are some of the more common exit jobs that audit managers take?

I currently work in Healthcare as a respiratory therapist for 10 years. I have been at my job, currently, for a little over 5 years. Alongside my bachelors degree I also have a masters degree in healthcare administration. Although, I am happy with my current position as a respiratory therapist, there seems to be not a lot career growth with where the department I currently work in within my healthcare system. Is leaving consulting as a senior, with 2 YOE, too soon? When is a “good” time to exit, in your opinion? I ask because I’ve heard senior is good, and I’ve heard manager is the latest you should stay before diminishing exit returns (anecdotal)

Any thoughts on leaving M&A tax Senior Associate / manager position for a tax attorney position at the IRS Office of Associate Chief Counsel? Considering the person would have to take a pay cut to join the IRS, is it worth it for professional growth and learning?

Need advice. How bad is it to go from “forensics” to Sox. Pay is going to be higher. My ideal situation would’ve been to work in investigations/payments/fraud but I’ve not gotten any interviews. Probably just taking it for higher pay and I wouldn’t mind the boring aspect of it.

Just curious to how my firms (wealth management/bank/trust) comp compares with others out there. I received a promotion earlier this year from an Investment Advisor, AVP to Senior Investment Advisor, VP and moved from $110K to $140K ($130 salary + $10K discretionary bonus) all in. By meeting expectations in 2 pay cycles, the base bumps up to $175K + bonus. Grown in this role over about 10 years with the same firm, MBA + CFA; top 10 city and living comfortably as dual income household.
