It is possible to become a vet without operating, but it may be difficult to find a job without surgical experience. Some vets may be willing to train you on the job, but most likely you will need to complete a surgical rotation as part of your veterinary school education
Watching surgery can be difficult in the beginning, but with time it becomes easier as you learn the anatomy and physiology of the animals you are working with.
In my personal opinion, I think that it is possible to become a vet without having to operate on animals. There are many different aspects of being a vet, such as working with patients, doing lab work, and consulting with other vets. While surgery may be a part of the job, it is not necessary in order to be a successful vet.
It can be tough to watch surgery, especially if it is your first time. However, with experience it does get easier. It is possible to become a vet without ever having to operate on an animal, but you would likely need to work in another area of the clinic.
It gets easier as soon as you start getting into the science of it all. It's really fascinating how far medical treatment of animals has advanced, and it's very exciting to be able to practice it.
Well maybe I'm not the best one to ask since obviously surgery doesn't bother me so much... but it isn't always as hard to deal with, once you get used to it you'll be fine. Just give yourself time to adjust. It's a lot to deal with at first
Surgeries are the biggest reason why I never went to veterinary school. I think some people have much stronger resolve than I do, the moment I see blood I panic. I have been told by others that it isn't so bad after your first few experiences, hopefully they're right.
You do have to face surgery in school but once you're out of there, you can choose a job with no surgery required. My stomach struggled with surgery at first too, but it did get easier for me.
