A full time summer job, or a part time job and I can’t seem to get accepted anywhere and I don’t know what to do, i’m asking for a little bit of guidance if anyone can help me please. Hi everyone. I’m a front end software engineer. I’m interviewing next week for a solutions engineer at a company I really like, which I mistakenly applied for as I saw they needed ReactJS, JavaScript, HTML/CSS. Upon reading the job description, it’s clear I will be doing a lot of sales and client consulting over actually coding. I know they have a FE SWE role open. How would you approach asking the recruiter if there are any SWE openings I could be considered for instead ?

I have a interview with Zoho tomorrow for APM role and they asked me to give a product demo for their ServiceDesk software. I have no prior PM experience and I have no idea how to do it. If anyone knows what to do, please help 🤒

I wanted to get people's opinions on leetcode, codewars etc when prepping for interviews. I am a junior full stack dev looking to move to a better paying junior role or a mid role and honestly these style of questions have always stumped me. I have found that in a year of work to have never found them useful in tackling real world issues. Now I'm moving from a junior to a mid can I still expect leetcode style questions?

2nd year junior attorney applying to new positions in the Southern California area. Every firm that’s called me to interview are smaller firms with salary ranges of 80-90k. Received an offer for a Product Manager role from a midsized financial services company for $120k base + 15% bonus. Currently making $130k + 15% bonus in consulting with 4 yoe. Is this a good offer? Intiatially they told they are considering me for staff engineer role but after interview they are offering associate staff engineer. Is it worth to join?

I have a question. I work as an assistant manager been a manager for a while worked for the company for 6 years. I know crew gets paid a dollar less than me yet a do a lot ( its part of my job ) I asked for a raise I was told wait 3 months. Waited I asked again was told I needed to do this this and that. I just recently worked 58.6 hours in a week, weekly pay, nice OT profit right? Depends on where you live.

In Iowa, there is no Overtime pay mandate, the overtime pay is at the discretion of the business. I received 58.6 hours of base pay for the week.

If the company makes less than $1 million per year or does not engage in intercontinental sales, the company is not required to pay the overtime rate of time and a half, just your base rate.

Do you think culinary school is worth it? I've been a waiter for a year but really want to be a chef. The people I work with say to just start in the kitchen and work my way up but I think culinary school might get me where I want to be faster. The cost is pretty insane though. Any advice?
