How big is the total media budget? This is the problem with companies trying to do it themselves, they think it will save costs. Yes in the short term and that is a big maybe.
Companies don’t understand how much you need to invest in the infrastructure and more importantly the talent to make this happen.
Only the truly big ones like P&G, can really do it but it takes years and it’s not about cost savings.
The healthcare company can just straight up ask the media agency for the platform reps contact info. They should have specific ones depending again on the size of the spend.
If they want to leave the agency because of performance, meta and google etc are not going to manage it themselves aka managed service. They got out of that business, they will refer you to certain partners/agencies.
They won’t get a better deal. There is always someone spending more, so there is no incentive for meta and google to give you a better deal than what you have. Unless you will commit to spending significantly more aka a JBP.
There are countless companies that have tried to do it themselves only to turn tail sometimes under 6 months and rehire their agency.
OP what do you mean by deal? Do you mean managed service where Google and Meta run the campaigns for you?
They don’t do that, they have authorized partners that they will refer you to, which essentially are agencies.
On the programmatic side Trade Desk and some of the smaller DSPs have managed service.
And if you are talking about media spend based deals such as joint business plan aka “upfront” deal where you commit to a certain spend level to get value add, some discounts then that’s something different.
But for Google and Meta to want you to sign those kinds of deals you have to commit to spend a lot, I am talking about at minimum $25M for each platform for the year at least.
DM if you want I am more than happy to speak to you, I have plenty of experience with this and i’ve been in the industry for over 20 years before there was social media.
Anyone here also to explain more how currently these deals with meta and google are structured? I haven’t done one in years…the companies I used to work they stopped doing those deals…some time ago…
