Can i ask what you define as a “good” pension?
It's a government pension. The issue is I have like 35 years until retirement, and I don't know if I'll stay in government my entire career or not. So I'm not sure what my income will look like in retirement.
There was an episode on TorStar's Millennial Money podcast that discussed government pensions and saving. The episode is about "Alex", it might be worth a listen for you.
I believe the general conclusion was that if you have a very good pension from work already, it's not nearly as necessary for you to save for retirement via RRSP as it would be for any regular workers. You can consider putting money elsewhere for your savings.
Thanks I will check it out!
