Trying to set family expectations and would love thoughts on 2 things. 1. How long after baby will I be ready for visitors beyond our parents? I’m thinking a few weeks. 2. Our 3 grandmothers are 1-3 hour flights away (3 diff places) and cannot travel. When will we be ready to take baby to see them? I’m thinking 4-6 months but that would also be flu/RSV season. Once you've been accepted, can it be revoked if you decide to quit your job? Or to put it another way, barring acts of infamy/legality/stupidity, is there anything I could do that would endanger my acceptance once received?

I kind of want to spend some time with family and travel a bit before an mba and if I get notified in Dec, I'd like to use the time I have in between on myself. I'm fine with losing out on pay, I made some smart investments that money is not the primary issue.

Is it misleading to just look at Total Compensation from a $ dollar value/ Total Compensation seems to be much more subjective than base salary in terms of its value. Some factors might be:

RSUs granted on dollar value or by # of shares & stock price trends
Vesting schedule
strike price on ISOs & delta between strike price and real market value

For instance, most of value in Amazon's comp seems to be granted in years 3 & 4, but it's well known that most people last only 2 years max there.

I'm an SA, and my fiance is finishing up her residency and loves the medical field. I make good money and have a house but I feel like the relationship and the obligations (house, family) are anchors and holding me back from living my life. I want to sell and live on the road, traveling and being free.

I love my fiance and my family but I just want to quit everything and just hit the road.

Fiance does not want that lifestyle. Shes more of a 2-3 weeks of vacation is good.
