Places to eat: Liholiho Yacht Club, Cotogna, Rintaro, Vive la Tarte, Lolo, Lapisara, La Mar, Chez Maman (potrero), Sightglass Coffee, Sextant Coffee, Cellarmaker Brewery (plz plz go), BiRite creamery, Salt and Straw, Mr Holmes.
Would spend some time at Golden Gate Park/Presidio, Embarcadero/Mission Bay Area (check out Spark Social food truck park), Dolores Park, Painted Ladies. Palace of Fine Arts, Lombard St. and Fisherman’s wharf for some touristy stuff. Try to make it down to Palto Alto/University Ave if you have the time. Would stay away from Tenderloin/Civic Center/some parts of SOMA. A lot of what makes SF great is just chilling outside in the nice weather, so make sure to take it slow!
Meh - I’d still go. It’s a cool area to check out with the parks nearby
Don’t stay downtown! We stayed near golden gate park in inner sunset and so happy I chose that vs. downtown. Also highly recommend driving up to Napa area and staying a few nights there :) also the trails near lands end are beautiful as well as driving over to Muir Woods (buy tickets in advance for Muir)
Uh, don’t go to Alcatraz. Overrated.
Yes alcatraz is awesome especially if it's good weather.
Get out of the city and hike/walk Muir Woods
What time of year? Summers in sf are colder than the winter so don’t expect “warm California weather”. Best time to go is August - October
Everyone always forgets a sweater!! Bring jeans and layers for sure. Classic mistake haha
Don’t leave any valuables in your car. It will get broken into.
Chubby Noodle! If they still do bottomless mimosa brunch then I highly recommend it! Crissy Beach is also a good spot for pictures of Golden Gate Bridge. Golden Gate park is also fun to walk around in! Don’t go to the tenderloin.
I’m currently on vacation with my bf and it’s been exhausting because he’s so laid back about what we do that I always end up picking activities and then feel like I’m checking in with him every 20 minutes to make sure he’s having fun! I’ve decided that if he really cared, he’d speak up, so I’m gonna do me the rest of the trip and make sure I’M having fun! If your bf is like mine, he’s happy if you’re happy 😊
Give each other space/alone time once a day. If you haven’t spent 24/7 together for multiple days before it’ll be a change and depending on your personalities, you’ll need time to recharge.
If you or your partner get hangry, make sure you keep that addressed. One trip with a friend that got hangry, and wow it was so much more enjoyable when they were fed.
Baker beach
LA TAQUERIA AND ORDER IT DORADO STYLE!!!!!!!
If you like Deviled eggs, park tavern has THE BEST. Their other food is pretty solid too. Brunch at foreign cinema is good.
If you make it out to Napa, ad hoc is my fave thomas keller place there.
Marin and tiburon are cute.
Oh and mind the weather....it's prob not as warm as you think it would be.
Golden gate park like everyone said. Check out the buffaloes
Lands end trail for awesome views of golden gate bridge and ocean
China beach for a mellow small beach
I live here and enjoyed Alcatraz. My dad was born here and just visited for the first time and liked it. Get tickets in advance. Go to the Ferry Building (touristy but great! Especially when farmer’s market is open). Mission Rock Resort has great seafood and view and is $$ not $$$ per person. Find a good Mexican spot and also check out Chinatown. Lombard street is kind of fun during off times when it’s not backed up.
Lands End, Napa, Sausalito, Half Moon Bay/ Pacifica, Muir Beach, Palo Alto downtowns. If you have time, go down to Monterrey and Big Sur.
All good recs except Palo Alto DT. Definitely not worth going there
Golden Gate Park, Conservatory of Flowers and Dolores Park. Mission District for bohemian things. Golden Gate Bridge. Sutro Baths is really cool. If there’s time, hike at Mt Tam or Tilden Park in Berkeley
If you have the time try to get to some of the vineyards. We booked a 3 vineyard tour that took you by bus. Napa is only about an hour drive!
Late Spring in San Francisco is chilly windy weather ☀️
The Arboretum and the seafood.
Book Alcatraz early! I think tickets open up month(s) before. Jump on it.
I love this crazy hippy store in the haight called The Love of Ganesha
