Currently m working as SAP HANA dev/admin, oracle db & ogg tool & have total 4.5 yoe but now i want to switch my career to devops as m not getting interest in current work, & felt actually interested while studying devops. As of now, have studied basics of git, docker, ansible, chef, jenkins from youtube & just started kubernetes. I want y'all guidance on exact roadmap to move ahead to get into this role & also will i b able to get into devops after 4.5-5 yoe? TIA

Has anyone successfully made the career move from an HR specialization to an HRBP role? If so, how? I have been working for 7 years in a very niche HR specialization and while I wear many hats on the HR team, I feel like this is hard to express to recruiters or even get an interview for an HRBP role. After spending 4 years as a mid-level ops manager, I tried to break into HR through talent acquisition. Now after 6 years in TA, I've had a hard time getting out of it. My goal was always to get into a more broad HRBP position, but I've since worked for smaller orgs without a solid HR career path. When I ask about my career goals, they keep telling me, "Soon!" I just accepted an offer in writing. The new job will start the background check next which I’ve been told it may take a while to complete. My start date at the new job isn’t until 2023 so there is some time for me to turn in my notice. I don’t anticipate any hiccups in the background check but is it wise to wait until the background check is complete before turning in my notice?

Have an offer from AWS for an L7 Principal PMT role: $215k base + $275k sign on bonus for Year 1 and $215k for year 2 + 5100 RSUs (@ $130 / share). This is the initial offer; where is there room for negotiation? Base or Sign on Bonus or RSUs? I realize it's a good offer, but I'm looking for: $225k base + existing sign on + 5500 RSUs. Does that sound like a decent counter?

I book cabs for her despite her scolding me for spending money unnecessarily on booking cabs for her. At times, she doesn’t even tell me and goes out to buy household stuff.
