Hi everyone! Has anyone else’s number of “team meetings” with leadership increased (i.e.: 1x a week to 3x a week via zoom)?

If so, do you feel the need to still have multiple meetings per week just to “connect/check in”? How are you keeping them meaningful and intentional? Are team members engaged?

When this WFH first started, I feel it made a lot more sense. But now people are rocking and rolling. I’d love to hear about others’ team meeting experiences these days!

Be well.

I try my best to connect with folks in the AM, delegate tasks clearly with clear deadlines, then let folks ride all day and answer questions as they come in. I end up playing caboose in evening but hope that taking a “hands-off unless asked” approach gives my team a bit of flexibility in their day.

Keep my standing client meetings and initiative specific meetings scheduled as they were before COVID.

Really love the idea of knocking it out in the morning! Thank you for sharing.

I may be a guilty party here. I have always been invited to team meetings but only attended when the SM suggested attending, there was something to announce, or I "sensed a need".

Now I try to attend a meeting of every team at least once a week. No additional meetings, but I'm going to meetings to make sure people are doing OK, and to get a better sense of how the teams are doing.

I feel like I've learned about some people that needed a little extra attention. It's also been a chance for people to ask questions they wouldn't ask in town halls.

I'm sorry if I'm causing any work issues. I'm obviously not trying to add stress, but I'm just not sure how else to learn about issues. Even our SMs have issues, but they and the Ms are conditioned to think they just have to deal and support their people. I don't feel I can wait until someone asks for help.

I wouldn’t say you’re creating extra work. Especially since you’re not creating extra meetings. I think it’s powerful as a leader to show your presence in scheduled meetings during these times. It shows you’re making the time! And as you mentioned, it’s probably an even better time than ever to learn and connect on an individual level. I can only think of how many questions I have been ready to ask back as an AE outside of a Town Hall setting.

I’m running into the inability to hardly show any kind of above and beyond support level because of all the extra, newly added, meetings with my own leadership 🥴

Then sit here and can’t figure out why…

So recently my SO has been accusing me of being in control of when we are intimate (sex and cuddling). She says that every time she wants to I say no - and whenever I want to - she says yes. So it's by default doing whatever I want when I want. It's a gross exaggeration of what's happening - but does anyone ever deal with something like this? How do you say no to something like that - without your partner thinking you're just looking out for yourself or you're controlling?
