Hi everyone, I am very fortunate enough to have received 2 big 4 offers one in the deal advisory group for accounting advisory and the other is in audit. I want the advisory role since most usually try to exit to that after audit but I am wondering if I go into it would I be in a much more disadvantaged position since I don't have a strong accounting base that audit would provide? I would think this is a still a better choice than audit but just want to get other opinions thx

Go into deal advisory- almost every auditor try’s to get into advisory or goes into industry because auditing sucks, pays less, and you’re part of a mandatory fee company has to pay for instead of an advisor.

Understood thx for ur advice I appreciate it

After a little bit of time I’m accounting advisory try to pivot to the financial diligence (TAS) group if you want less technical work

AAS prob has more predictability than FDD but I’d imagine workload is a lot bc it’s always gonna be a lot

As others have said, go with the AAS offer. If you want to try audit, it’s much easier for you to transfer from AAS to Audit than vice versa.

Good luck

Advisor for sure

My boyfriend and I make 200K combined and live in NJ. We have $1000 in monthly car payments combined. That’s all we owe. Our credit scores are in the 800s. We have 50K to put down on a home. We have done the math and I know we can afford much more but he doesn’t want to buy more than a 400K home. I’m almost positive we can afford 500K and be more than ok. But then he starts to talk about how much kids cost and how we will be house poor and we won’t be able to afford kids. 🤔 Am I insane??

I just started with a company as an HR Generalist. Within the 3 weeks of being there, my boss’s boss left, and today I found out my boss gave notice. HR is not valued at the company and it’s disheartening to know I was hired into a mess. I am now actively looking but how do I explain to other employers why I am actively looking and what do I put on my resume? I have never had to deal with this before.

For context, my wife, once she’s done with maternity leave, will only work 25-30 hours a week. Am I stupid or did the e-learns not prepare me for any of this? The training told me I'd be auditing cash but I haven't even touched a bank reconciliation.
